  Wow! I'm going to spend some time pondering all these thoughts. JEFF, on loving people and looking past the hypocrisy, the dirt-swept-under-the carpet bulging through: I relate, especially as I grieved and cried over all those horrible revelations and the lack of concern and failure to redress on the part of the GB. The WT is guilty of idolatry and bloodshed. Per their warnings of many years stuck in my head---and craw--- remove yourselves from the unclean thing, so I did! ABANDONED, on having spunk and not worrying about angering God or stumbling your brother: I'm developing spunk, which is a leap forward for Caspar Milquetoast. And I'm getting way past the contention that breaking a WT rule is going to stumble and ruin my bro. I try to use tact and discernment, but I'm learning when to go the other route---spunk!

  Dear Sparky,

  I had no idea that my sign-off was a dance title! Looked just now in my fake book but couldn't find it. But I believe you! I know there's a Missouri Waltz. I pioneered there 40 years ago, passed through your Texas to get there. Wow! great way to leave the pain behind---talk about music and dance. I feel inspired to get back on the dance floor. The JWs here sure enjoy it. Keep singing and dancing and your heart will be free! So great to share---

  I really don't feel worthy, but my nickname is Sparky also. For me, though, it's to do more with appearance than disposition. Your thread inspired me on the "Wanna Be Around" piece. I've never been a fighter like you've seen the need to become. Blown up alot. All emotional. Shrapnel does the most good where it doesn't hit. I see your point to direct your blows to get results. I'm grateful that you "went public"---it's helped me!

  Should I just say no?

  my partners brother is being released from state prison on 12/7 and jake has to go to huntsville to pick him up.

  i am cooking a big thanksgiving dinner and his mom wants me to duplicate it when the a**hole gets home and cook a big dinner for x-mas too.

  i get 1 day off a week and i am starting to resent being the fricking maid.

  I am in a near-identical situation myself. It's a juggling act between your rights and sanity and the wishes/needs of others. Being honest, but tactfully so, is no guarantee you'll make everyone happy, but it's better than seething with internal rage. Gosh, you've just vented for me! Will stay in touch.

As I was reflecting upon Johnny Mercer and Sadie Vimmerstedt's hit "I Wanna Be Around", it occurred to me that we have had our collective hearts broken. We are all in various stages of recovery, but despite our pain, 'we want to be around to pick up the pieces when somebody (WT) "breaks the heart"' of our loved ones. Lady Lee expressed it beautifully in "Should We Unite With a Cause": "We have made the greatest impact by being honest and telling our stories," stating too that just ONE person speaking out against control, manipulation and abuse can effect change. We speak out, but through our tears.

  What helps you personally move forward to aid others, in spite of your pain, your "broken heart"?

  this is driving me crazy....this is a classical piece by anton rubinstein called melody in f. i swear they used major parts of it as the basis for a kingdom song.

  does anyone recognize it and if so can you tell me which kingdom song?

  Looks even better with The Captain's entry. Melodically, #34 is certainly closer to Melody in F. And it's the next door neighbor to #35! I was too caught up in the key of F. It takes more than one mind to solve the question of the ages.

  CoCo is back with some good news, thanx to Nathan Natas! The song NN alluded to, "Love's Excelling Way" (#35) could be it. Both are in the key of F, employ duple meter (2/4 and 4/4 time) and are first cousins melodically. What is a signature, however, at the beginning of Melody in F, is middle C followed by B natural (a half-step lower). That mild dissonance is edgy and perfect as the ear expects B flat, which is part of the key of F. Expect the unexpected! #35 is charming and dear but it has neither the sweep nor lasting power of the Rubinstein.
